About The Farm & Process :
Gatta Farm, home to Daye Bensa’s specialty coffee program, is located in Shantawene Village, Sidama Bensa, Ethiopia, at an altitude of 2120–2210m within a natural forest. Surrounded by century-old indigenous trees, rivers, and waterfalls, the farm takes its name from a waterfall that flows through the property, reflected in the blue label chosen for this coffee.
Originally untouched forest, the site was discovered by Daye Bensa co-founder Mulugeta Dukamo and planted with coffee in 2013, with a drying station established in 2017. Most farm work is carried out by local residents, with women playing key roles in quality control and processing. By creating employment opportunities and providing fair wages, Gatta Farm makes a meaningful contribution to the local community.
