Origin Story: Nensebo & Its Landscape
Situated between the Bale Mountains National Park and the eastern edge of the Sidamo zone, the Nensebo washing station is a hub for around 700 smallholder farmers, each contributing cherries grown on small family plots. Early in the year, the entire area turns pale with coffee blossoms — a striking sight that announces the new harvest.
Although once classified under the broader Sidamo umbrella, Nensebo has started carving out its own identity. Its washed coffees are increasingly recognised for their clarity, florality, and natural sweetness, drawing the attention of roasters seeking elegant, high-altitude Ethiopian profiles. This lot captures everything that makes the area unique.
